PROJECT FEATURE: Rio Apartment Inspiration

So when asked to design an apartment in Rio de Janeiro, my native town, I began to assemble images that would portray the feelings, materials, textures and colors I’d like to introduce to the project.
I was influenced by the design of modern Brazilian beach houses that incorporate vernacular traditions. These projects inspired me to introduce natural materials such as woods and fibers with the contrast of “modern” finishes such as lacquer and frame-less glass.
In the end, I want to walk into this space and have it feel light, breezy, elegant but welcoming. I want to hear, ”Eu, você, nós dois aqui neste terraço à beira-mar…”
